Welcome to BountifulSpine.com. I have created this site to help disseminate information about spine care. Neck and back problems are very common, and new therapies and treatment options are becoming available. This will soon be a place to find useful information about all types of spine related problems and solutions. Above are links to various symptoms, diagnoses and procedures related to spine care under the patient education button.
I am primarily a spine surgeon. My practice is located in Davis County of northern Utah, with offices in Bountiful and Layton. I also see patients at a sattelite clinic in Tooele twice a month. My offices are just a few minutes to the north of Salt Lake City, and about the same distance south of Ogden. The locations also make it fairly easy to reach even from southern Idaho and Wyoming. For more office location details and hours, click the locations button. For more information about who we are and our staff, click the about us button.
Many spine problems can be treated without surgery, but for some surgery is very effective. I feel that the conservative approach is generally best.
The site is still under construction, so check back often for updates.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
What is "minimally invasive" surgery? Basically it is doing surgery through smaller incisions and trying to cause less tissue disruption. The idea is that patients may recover quicker using these techniques, but the jury is still out for some procedures. Whether traditional or smaller incisions are used, the surgery needs to fulfil its goal in a safe and reliable way.
Is "minimally invasive" surgery for you? It depends. Some problems are treated very effectively with "minimally invasive" techniques. Others not so well. To learn more, talk to your surgeon.
